Sumit Dewanjee, M.D.

Dr. Dewanjee graduated from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in 1998. He works in Gilbert, AZ and specializes in Orthopaedic Surgery, Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Sumit Dewanjee, MD completed his medical degree at the University of Miami, School of Medicine after majoring in Anatomy and Physiology at Cornell University. He received his sports fellowship, focusing on athletic injuries of the knee and shoulder, in San Diego, California, where he gained experience in the care of high school, collegiate (USD, PLNU) and professional athletes (San Diego Chargers, San Diego Riptide, WWE).

Jonathan Lewin, MD

Spine Surgeon – Board Certified Spine Surgeon – Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery

Jonathan D. Lewin is an alumnus of the Yeshiva College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989.

 

In 1993 he graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine with his Doctorate in Medicine.

 

Between 1994 and 1998, Dr. Lewin completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Montefiore Medical Center. Following his residency, he also completed his Pediatric and Adult Medicine Surgery Fellowship at the Shriner’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Temple University Hospital, Cooper University, and Jefferson University Hospital.

 

Dr. Lewin is licensed to practice medicine in several states including New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is the Director of Spine Surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Forest Hills, New York. Dr. Lewin is one of the few doctors in the states of New York and New Jersey who is experienced in performing Endoscopic Fusion Surgery. Endoscopic Fusion Surgery is a minimally-invasive spinal surgery that can be used to correct:

This method of surgery reduces patient trauma and scarring associated with traditional surgery by minimizing prolonged muscle retraction, incision size and blood loss. Patients are able to leave the hospital sooner, with less pain and can usually return to their normal daily routine within weeks. Endoscopic Fusion Surgery requires the surgeon to insert a camera through a small incision approximately 1cm in length. Seth Grossman, MD

Dr. Grossman is board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive spine techniques in the treatment of degenerative disease, deformity/scoliosis, and traumatic injuries. He is licensed to practice medicine in New York and New Jersey.

 

An alumnus of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Magna Cum Laude honors. He went on to complete a Master of Science in Computer & Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He then received a Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

 

He did his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He went on to complete specialty fellowship training in Spine Surgery at the University of California at San Diego Medical Center. Before coming to the Center for Spinal Disorders, he was a member of the Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group on Long Island, NY, where he specialized in both nonsurgical and surgical management of spinal disorders.

Dr. Jonathan M. Simhaee specializes in state-of-the-art techniques to treat pain as a result of spinal disorders. He is an expert in the use of minimally invasive as well as more aggressive techniques and works closely with our team of spinal surgeons in doing so. Dr. Simhaee utilizes a comprehensive approach that enables and empowers his patients. His theory involves self-education and his philosophy of care includes conservative treatments, ranging from physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage, acupuncture and electrical stimulation, to the next step in treatment modalities, such as medications, trigger point injections and spine injections.

 

 

Dr. Simhaee’s expertise, pain management, also known as pain medicine, is a combination of various scientific disciplines as well as the healing arts to systematically address pain– its prevention, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment, as well as the rehabilitation of painful disorders. Dr. Simhaee received his undergraduate degree from the prestigious Yeshiva University, a major national research university, from which he graduated with a Bachelor in Sciences in the field of Biology and earned degrees in Sociology and Judaic studies. He completed his undergraduate studies in three years time and then attended the Sackler School of Medicine in Ramat Aviv, Israel, to continue his medical education. It was there that Dr. Simhaee was introduced to the field of Physiatry. Physiatrists, or rehabilitation physicians, are nerve, muscle, and bone experts who treat injuries or illnesses that affect how you move. In 2009, Dr. Simhaee returned to the U.S. to join Nassau University Medical Center where he completed a preliminary year of Internal Medicine. Dr. Simhaee then joined the world-renowned Rusk Institute located at the NYU Langone Medical Center, and its various affiliations, where he embarked on a formal training in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. With an emphasis on the integrity of the Spine and Pain Management, Dr. Simhaee then completed an Interventional Pain Management fellowship in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where he was recognized for his outstanding rapport with his patients.
